Monument is located in the foot mall area between the Hazel Park City Hall and the Hazel Park Memorial Library at 9 Mile and John R streets in Hazel Park Michigan.  The memorial is visible from both streets at this busy intersection at the center of the City.

The memorial will consist of a curved wall of 4 brick pillars and poured linear wall sections between the pillars creating the backdrop.  At the rear of each wall section will be flag poles centered on that section of wall.  The center wall section will have a 30’ pole flanked by two 25’ flag poles at either side wall section.  The flag poles will fly the American flag, the State of Michigan flag as well as appropriate memorial flags.

In the area front of the wall sections will be three bronze statues.  The statues will be life sized replicas of a military field cross honoring the sacrifices of our United States Military; a life sized replica of firefighter turnout gear and other equipment displayed in a manner similar to a military field cross honoring the sacrifices of firefighters; and a life sized replica of various pieces of law enforcement uniforms and equipment displayed in a manner similar to a military field cross honoring the sacrifices of law enforcement.

The area in and around the memorial will be laid with engraved donated memorial paver bricks sold during the fundraiser.

The flags, statues and general area around the memorial will have direct and indirect lighting.  This will ensure the beauty of the memorial is visible day or night.

Finally, a sound system is planned to allow for the playing of soft and reverent music to compliment the physical structures with sounds that instill honor, respect and appreciation for what the entire project is intended to capture and cultivate.
