The Hazel Park Fallen Heroes Memorial will have its formal dedication on December 12th, 2008 at 3:30 PM. The dedication will take place at the memorial site located on Hazel Park City Hall property at the north east corner of 9 Mile and John R in Hazel Park. The area will be tented and chairs will be provided for limited seating. The event will take place regardless of weather. Please dress accordingly. Public Invited.

With pride and gratitude, the Hazel Park Police Department, the City of Hazel Park and the community that they serve honors all of its residents and workers who have served in the protection of the community of Hazel Park and our Nation.  In war and peace, their service has kept our freedoms safe, at home and abroad.  Freedom is the sure possession of only those who have the courage to defend it.  This monument is to stand in honor of those who have given their lives as well as those who continue to fight daily so that others may live freer and safer lives. The anticipated completion date is Fall of 2007 (sooner if many more lend their support).

With utmost respect and honor,

David B. Niedermeier
Chief of Police
City of Hazel Park Police Department.
